Ar Tonelico Qoga

You know, I've been waiting to play this game for years. I got it from NIS on their preorders. It sat around for most of a year until I got an actual PS3 and HDTV.

Now. I am playing it. But I'm not playing it nearly as much as I played the first two. As in, my entire weekend isn't disappearing into the game. At most it's like an hour or two a week.

And I think I know why.

I waited all these years to play Ar Tonelico Qoga. I didn't wait all these years to play Tales of Ar Ciel.

I'm really not liking the battle system for this game. I hope it's just a matter of having to get use to how to use the controls...

/me ponders restarting the first Ar Tonelico for, like, the third time now and maybe actually finishing it this time, then moving on to 2 and 3, which haven't even been removed from the shrink-wrap yet.

Will I actually do that any time soon? Doubtful... :/ Got too much other, newer stuff to play.

Unfortunately it's not -- the battle system gets easier once you get some experience, but it's not a great system. The game overall isn't anywhere near as good as 2, or even 1, although the story is still enjoyable. I still haven't finished it yet...

I think they focused a bit too much on the 3d aspect for this game, being a ps3 title and all that. It's a shame really. I will get around to finishing it however. It's just that if this were either of the other two games I would have had it completed weeks ago.
