Gotta correct you on the Heavy Rain origami thing. That was to intended to accompany the mandatory install of game files from the disc. This is an entirely separate beast from the download and install of the 200+ MB patch, which had no such distracting thingie to go with it at all.
Beyond that, I pretty much agree with you.
Still, I'll play devil's advocate for a bit. I have Final Fantasy VII for the Playstation 1. However, I cannot play it because there is something screwed up with one of the discs. If I want to rebuy the game in order to play it again, I have the option to A) buy it "new" from some place like Amazon or eBay or whatever, which will run me almost $200, or B) buy it used from the same, the cheapest of which is still $40 or so, or C) hunt used stores or flea markets or whatever and hope to find it cheaper than that (this is something I'm not going to do, regardless, so it's not really an option for me personally) or D) pay $10 to download it through Playstation Network on the PS3.
