Also, I've finally started in on this series of games. I searched and found most/all of the titles on different systems over the summer with the intent to play them through in order. Currently going through Blood Omen on the PS1. I like the narrative approach it has.

Cool, it's a good series in my opinion. Just keep in mind that Blood Omen 2 is kind of non-canon, as it was made by a different team and they bungled the overall storyline a fair bit (or else just consider it as an alternate timeline as a result of all the tampering that happens in the rest of the series, which is what I did). That's why I suggested back when we were chatting about it before to play BO2 either last or between Soul Reaver 2 and Defiance (which is when it was released anyway).

Once you finish it, you'll probably be able to immediately recognize the voice of Simon Templeman (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0854742/) (VO of Kain) in a number of other games. He's been in a lot of stuff. Even an episode of Star Trek TNG, similar to Michael Bell (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0068407/) (VO for Raziel), and similarly to my surprise.
