Persona 3 complete.

Completed Persona 3 the other day. I have a newgame+ started but I probably won't actually go through it any time soon. It would probably be more challenging and worthwhile to try a new game from scratch and try to get max social links properly. Going through it the first time, I saw a lot of wasted time and things I could have done better to make it possible. So I'll probably do that. Eventually.

But that's not this year. Next up I'm going to play a bit more retro. Later tonight I'm going to play Wonderboy in Monsterland. I haven't quite completed it yet, even when I played it in the past. It's one of those games where you have to go from start to finish in one game. The only problem I have is with the last castle which is a maze. One of those annoying "if you go the wrong way, you end up back at the beginning." types. I thought I had it memorized, but I didn't. What I had memorized was the version of that castle in Wonderboy III. (since they reverse time a little bit and make you do the last castle of II.) However. That version of the castle is only the first easy half. X_X So naturally when I got past that part I ran into unfamiliar territory and ended up losing all my life from time penalties trying to learn that part. I'll just make sure I take the bell this time which rings whenever you're about to go the right way (Except for once when it rings incorrectly.)

Besides fight the boss at the top of optional tower, what would those be?

Right now, if I were to play the game through again, I'd rather try for the max-link route from a fresh game in the hopes of unlocking Orpheus Telos at game start in future newgame+'s.

O-o Orpheus Telos does not exist in Persona 3. It only exists in Persona 3 FES...

Oh, I see. Still, wouldn't it be easier to just new game+ it now? You get to keep all your attributes which makes maxing the links a snap the 2nd time around. After all, you never need to study or karaoke or whatever so it's all social and date time.

From what I read, you must max all social links from a fresh game to unlock Orpheus Telos at the start, maxing them from a newgame+ won't do it. If that's untrue, then I'd certainly consider doing a newgame+ (as I have no problem having the girls run around in maid suits the entire game!) but then there's also the challenge of trying to do it from a fresh game.

Looking over my performance, I got most of them maxed except for a few. I wasted a LOT of time that I should have used on social links. So I'm thinking I'd like to try to get max social links, and try to get it without using the faq for it on gamefaqs.com. But either way, that's not this year. There's a big list of games that materialized over the last 6 months that I still gotta try my hand on. :) And I may yet get a copy of Persona 4. >_>

It shouldn't matter whether it's newgame+ or not to get Orpheus Telos, afaik.

To clarify, since I was in a bit of a rush this morning (having to leave for work and all *grumbleMemorialDaymutter*), all that matters is that you max all of the S.Links in the same single playthrough. It doesn't count if you only max the ones that you didn't max in the previous playthrough, since S.Link levels themselves don't carry over to newgame+ anyway. Only the fusion item that you got from maxing it carries over, meaning that you don't have to max those S.Links again before you can fuse those particular Personas.
