The 80gig maxtor drive I bought last summer/spring died this morning. I'm guessing it was similar reasons as with how POS's drive died repeatedly. A mix of excessive accessing and potential heat problems. The drive was converted to usb with a drive kit.

According to this it would take about 15,015 Hershey's Kisses to kill me. I'm no expert and I'm being generous here, but rough estimates say if I ate half of that in a short amount of time, death would probably seem like a pretty good idea.
