I'm now going to attempt to install the new hard drive. If you people don't see me make another entry today, there's probably a good chance something when horribly, horribly wrong.

*edit*

I gave up installing it inside the case. The case is just NOT intended for upgrades like this it seems. -_- To let it fit into the drives, I'd have had to remove the ram sticks and the CPU fan. The bays are not modular and don't seem to be removable from the rest of the case by human hands. (There's no way you could get to the screws on the inside.) There doesn't seem to be a way to get inside the case at all other than removing the side window. End result. Next time I buy a computer, it'll be piece-wise, starting with the next project of making a cheapy system mentioned earlier. This way I can make sure I avoid fucked up casings if nothing else.

I still have the 80gig hard drive installed and working however. I plugged it into the USB 2.0 Drive Kit I bought a few months back. It basically converts the internal drive into a usb plug-in-play drive. Slower transfer speeds on/off the disk, but it's something I'll live with.
