And to do it, I spent yesterday before going to work preparing a little bible for reference! I printed out several documents I had on the computer regarding programming the 2600, the hardware details of it, the complete listing of opcodes for the 6502 chip, a few diagrams for timing reference, and some general assembly language tricks/tips. Also printed out the docs for the 7800's Maria chip. Going to check the folders again soon to see if there's anything else I should print out and add to the massive booklet I'm generating this way. ^^;
The game concept is already decided, and I've gotten some sprite graphics donated from salstadt on the Atari Age forums to work with. First order of business for me will be to add those graphics/animations to the source code since I suspect that'll be the easiest part. I just have to convert it manually by looking at the gifs and writing down 1's and 0's.
