Still? Really? Enjoy.

When you name your game "Total War WARHAMMER - Chaos Warriors" then only give the Chaos Warrior faction (1/5 of the game as far as chooseable factions are concerned iirc) freely to pre-order individuals - the rest of the peons must buy it as DLC. You know there's something wrong. It's nice to see Joe's recommendation to downvote the game's trailer has some traction. over 27000 downvotes in 2-3 days. (there was only 1-2 when he did his initial video)

Remember, this is a PREORDER. That means that material is GOING TO BE DONE if it isn't already done on launch day. That and they're obviously going to be in the game from the get go with a name like that. As such, they've definitely decided to hack that content out to encourage people to preorder it.

(Which to me, I find when large guts to the game are made for preorder bonuses like this, it shows that the devs themselves don't think they've built a solid game. That it's going to be a flop. Why else would you need to try to secure as many preorders as possible? :P But that's just my opinion.)

Sure, they'll make their excuses for why it's not in the main game. But I'm afraid I wouldn't believe any other reason than to "drive sales by holding back a (apparently big, central) part of the game. I can't even believe the usual "oh it just won't be done in time." excuse publishers love to use since the faction is going to need to be in the game - they're the only faction apparently important/special enough to be in the name of the game. You know they'll be in it and it ain't that hard to make sure they're a playable faction if the units/etc are going to be in there anyway.

Come on, industry crash! Come on, come on! It can't come soon enough to suit me. For me, it'll be a "what took it so long?" situation now, no matter how soon it may happen. And a video game industry crash will most assuredly happen eventually, if the industry keeps up with egregious bullshit like this. I don't see any signs of the industry not continuing on, full steam ahead, with this sort of insufferable horseshit, after all. At any rate, even if I'd had even the slightest interest in this particular game at all before now, which I most certainly did not, it would have evaporated like a puddle in the desert sun with this shit.

With that said, though, this is just Cat (http://kane-magus.livejournal.com/528389.html)woman (http://kane-magus.livejournal.com/529359.html) all over again. Nothing new, really. At this point, honestly, the only really surprising thing about it for me is that they're even bothering to make it "free" to pre-orderers at all, rather than simply forcing everyone to cough up for the DLC, like they did later (after the Catwoman shit) with the even worse Mass Effect 3 (http://kane-magus.livejournal.com/562339.html) Day One Disc Locked Content bullshit (http://kane-magus.livejournal.com/563841.html).

(Splitting into two comments because, as always, LiveJournal's arbitrary character limit for comments is fucking stupid.)

(Continued from previous comment, instead of being in a single comment like it should have been, thanks to LiveJournal's stupid fucking arbitrary character limit for comments.)

Of course, here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIogQDIq4po#t=3m20s) is the TRUE crux of the problem:

Angry Joe: "Oh, Jesus Christ. I can't believe this."
Other Voice I Don't Know: "I can."
Angry Joe: "You can believe it?
OVIDK: "Yeah. Look at all the other companies that are doing all this shit lately. Nobody cares anymore. They know we're stupid enough. We're gonna go buy it. People are going to be mad for about a week, and then that'll be the end of it, and they'll do it again."

I don't know who that other guy was, but I fully agree with that guy. What he said, I also predict, is exactly how it will go down in the end, unfortunately. That is exactly how it's already been for the past decade or two, after all. As such, as much as I may say it's going to happen, as much as I may so fervently want it to happen, I can't really predict that an industry crash is actually imminent. Video game consumers, on the whole, are indeed stupid fucking sheep who do indeed suck such bullshit down the sewer pipe into their complacent, ignorant, sucking gullets, after all. It's just to the detriment of everyone, including the industry itself, that the industry has been perfecting the art of exploiting such idiots on such a regular basis these days, with no fear whatsoever of any lasting repercussions against them, because there never are any lasting repercussions against them. It's why I've all but completely checked out of modern video gaming entirely, outside of the occasional deep discount Steam sale and such. If more people did that, then yeah, the crash would happen, and sooner rather than later, but... meh. Just fucking meh. Angry Joe can rant about it until he's blue in the face. His "army" can downvote videos and leave angry comments on Youtube until their collective fingers fall off. People may even, just this once, decide to not buy this particular flavor of bullshit. But none of that shit is going to do a single goddamn thing to curtail the rising tide of other such bullshit, until and unless something big enough happens that impacts video game companies where it hurts them most, i.e. their bank accounts. And even if one company may happen to decide that they're losing more money from people boycotting their terrible, evil shit than they're gaining from exploiting the otherwise clueless masses, and thus decide to hold off on doing such terrible, evil shit for a little while, there are still far too many other companies out there who will continue to do this kind of shit in the meantime.

So... yeah, good luck to Angry Joe and the Angry Joe Army and all that good shit. If they can actually make a difference, for once, then more fuckin' power to 'em. For me, though, it has pretty much gotten too depressing and apathy-inducing to even bother with ranting about anymore, really, outside of the occasional comment or two like this one on the posts you make about such bullshit.

One thing I have to laugh about is that if you look at the DLC video that's being downvoted (still gaining 2k or so every 8-12hrs) along the side where they list the suggested videos, Angry Joe's Epic Fail video calling for the downvote is listed. :D

I've already got another rant up for something that pissed me off while I was out yesterday, which actually pisses me off far more than this. But yeah, if I had a youtube account I'd have long since joined my downvote to the others.
