I guess the real question now is what is out there or on the horizon that will become the de facto replacement for Minecraft once Microsoft runs Minecraft into the ground?
Terraria (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terraria) is pretty cool. I've played the hell out of that.
I'd like to get Starbound (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Starbound) at some point, but I'd prefer to wait until after it comes out of the whole "early access" stuff.
Beyond that... I'm not sure. I have zero interest in Ace of Spades (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ace_of_Spades_%28video_game%29) or FortressCraft (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FortressCraft), but those are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head that are 3D Minecraft-like.
