Rhapsody of Fire: The Frozen Tears of Angels

This caught me by surprise on the way to work yesterday. Rhapsody of Fire released a new CD finally. I think I remember hearing they would release a new CD "soon" a while back, but forgot all about it afterwards. So listening through now. Up to track 5 now and I can't say I've been disappointed by any of the songs yet. I'll update this later today or tomorrow after I've had a day to listen to the songs OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

You know. Standard Procedure.

Seriously? I thought they broke up because of some contract dispute. Quite frankly, I'm surprised they still are even around, much less releasing more CD's.

With the various legal issues like this, yeah, I'm kind of surprised they're still around as well. With these kinds of delays causing year+ delays in a CD release for the band, and then Luca going off to make some side project band CD either for his own band "Luca Turilli" (now concluded I believe) or that other one, Dreamquest, they're going to run the risk of running themselves into the realm of irrelevance from inactivity.

While they sit on their thumbs doing nothing, there's a large stream of new bands popping up to distract fans away as well as already established bands keeping things rolling.

Still, all that aside, this particular CD is quite good. A shame that a month from now Disturbed is releasing a new CD as well so I may not be listening to this (excessively at least) past August.
