As a tip for collecting the glyphs, if you're offline and can't verify info with gamefaqs etc) in the enemy lists, you'll notice that there are 3 entries for item drops. You'll also notice that very few monsters seem to drop stuff compared to other games.
Keep one of everything until you have all the townspeople quests completed - as some things are in fact one-of-a-kind and if you lose it, you're out of luck unless you play through the game again.
Also, the 3rd item drop for monsters is special. If the monster drops a glyph, that's where it'll be listed. (And the 3rd position will always mean a glyph drop if it has a ? mark etc by it.
Finally, if the glyph from a monster can be obtained by killing it, the glyph will attempt to form with every kill, but usually fail to stabilize. If the enemy list shows it drops a glyph, but a glyph doesn't attempt to form on death, it means you'll have to absorb it while fighting the monster, as the monster will try to cast it. Just press up the second you see the glyph start to be cast and it'll be absorbed.
But I rant. ^^
Good game. I enjoyed it, almost like a funky Castlevania III in some respects. Half the game outside the castle, half the game inside. Just be warned that the game has the annoying tendency to throw powerful monsters in the middle of your path from time to time. You'll notice it when you see it. Just remember where they are and decide for yourself if you want to try to kick the crap out of it anyway, or take a few hits and run past it as fast as possible.
