The only interaction I've had so far with the FF pixel remasters has been to watch the WoolieVersus LP of FF6. From what I saw of it there, it looked mostly the same, outside of specific instances like the opera scene, along with a few changes to mechanics such as how Cyan's Sword Tech stuff functioned (renamed to Bushido in the remaster), for example.
I have it and the other five Wishlisted on Steam, but the bundle has yet to hit a price point at which I'd be willing to buy it. Right now, it's apparently on a 38% off sale, but it still costs almost $60 USD (normally almost $100 USD), and I have no intention of paying that much for 30-plus year old Nintendo/Super Nintendo games, even if that averages out to around $10 per game (which, for me, is still too expensive for 30-plus year old NES/SNES games, even if "remastered").
