Glad I'm Not an Active D&D Gamer These Days

This video pretty much sums up the new Open Game License 1.1 bullshit. Honestly it's not like it would have really affected me personally, financially at the very least, since the only game content I've created for D&D were for a few personal campaign worlds that were never to be commercially available. However. This certainly shows how little the company thinks about the community that made it relevant, so if I had a D&D Beyond subscription, I would have cancelled it over this. And I wouldn't have gone back even if they fixed themselves. I'd be too busy looking at alternatives.

They reference Legal Eagle in the video, so decided to link that as well.

One of these days I'll remember how to hide shit behind cuts.

Hasbro is fucking poison. Everything they own/touch (e.g. WotC, My Little Pony, Transformers, G.I. Joe, etc.) succeeds despite them, not because of them. Assuming any of it is actually succeeding at all, of course, which WotC certainly isn't, as of now.

(EDIT) Oh, and Magic: The Gathering (via WotC, again). Hasbro is now trying (and failing, hopefully) to do to Dungeons & Dragons what it had already (successfully) done to MTG. See also: MTG's much diminished popularity now compared to what it used to be. (/EDIT)

Oh, and cuts are (slightly) easier on Dreamwidth compared to Livejournal. For LJ, you used the <lj-cut> tag. For DW, it's just <cut>. (EDIT) For what it's worth, the <lj-cut> tag actually also still works on DW as well. (/EDIT)

E.g. <cut text="Blah blah blah">In a main level post, this would be behind a cut, with "Blah blah blah" showing in the dropdown link thingie.</cut>
