Oh yeah, this is way way way too little, way way way too late. The fact that they thought it was a good idea to do all that shit at all to begin with, regardless of whether they're backpedaling on it now, has already irreparably harmed their reputation as far as I am concerned (not that they had a sterling reputation with me even before, of course). In my eyes, the backpedaling is less "we're listening to the customer feedback now" and more "it's too bad our previous scuzzbucket tactics got found out and now we have to pay lip service to not being scuzzbuckets anymore while trying to find stealthier ways to be scuzzbuckets in the future."
And yeah, they are definitely still "republishing" (i.e. unhiding) the Win10 related updates after they've been hidden multiple times, at least as of two days ago anyway.
