I don't often listen to Angry Joe, but when I do, he is usually making good sense. So very rare to see that sort of common sense thing, these days. Perhaps I should (re)subscribe to his Youtube channel. Then again, these days, I've been trying to at least somewhat limit my intake of news about just how terribly the video game industry is spiraling down the toilet.
As much as I hate pointless, stupid DLC (http://kane-magus.livejournal.com/tag/dlc), I hate pointless, stupid preorder bonus DLC (http://kane-magus.livejournal.com/448620.html) even more.
"Game makers and publishers now live in a world where offering game content as a pre-order exclusive is a requirement by retail." (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnun8y7r8_U) Baaaaawwwww, poor widdle game makers and publishers, being forced by the evil retail stores to cut content out of their games in order for them (the game makers and publishers, as well as the retailers I'm sure) to make more money on their game. Yeah fucking right.
This sort of fucking goddamn bullshit is why I'm pretty much done with modern video gaming, outside of a very, very few rare exceptions. It's to the point now where even a $5 Steam sale or whatever still isn't a worthwhile use of my money. It wouldn't even be worth the likely minimal effort it would take to pirate it, assuming I were into the whole pirating thing at all. I already didn't care about Metro or whatever even before this, and now I'll be actively avoiding buying it. Good job, whoever the devs/pubs of that game is that I'm too apathetic to look up the name of now. You've convinced me not to buy your game for any price.
